US President Donald Trump threatened to "open the gates of hell" on Iran if it did not agree to an agreement to end the war in the Middle East, while Tehran confirmed that there was no intention to negotiate. During a dinner with Republican members of Congress, Trump insisted that “Iran is already participating in peace talks,” adding that its denial of this is due to the Iranian negotiators’ fear of being “killed by their own group.” Trump said: “They are negotiating and very much want to conclude an agreement, but they are afraid to announce it for fear of being killed by their group, and they are afraid of being killed by our hands.”
